A week and a half of procrastination + 3/4 of a can of Suntory Rich Malt and the vague recollection that I had a wip sitting in my folder that needed to be finished. Here you go.
There's a bit more story to this (AU?) than just one line of John freaking out at Karkat being trussed up like a holiday turkey and hooked up to probably about a million dollars worth of ridiculous equipment, but that... will have to come later.

You know, I've always thought that Karkat, & any mutant really, would have Empathic & Pacifying powers. Empathy being a carry-over from the limebloods & Pacification being an evolution of it (think of it as advanced shoosh-papping). Untapped though these abilities may be, I think they'd have the potential to become (with enough training & meditation) powerful enough to soothe a rampaging Subjuggulator, quiet Gl'bgolyb, & even calm the Condesce herself. Which is why she's so adamant about their extinction to begin with.
